Sending out an SOS!

Oh dear ladies I need your help.

I recently became our new Officer Spouses Club (OSC) Book Club Leader. I am completely out of this world excited! I am going to host the first month's meeting which means I am picking the venue and books. The date, time, and place is easy... even the food BUT the books... AHHHHH!

In the past (meaning the year of 2009-2010) when I was a member of the OSC book club we would read two books and since the old system of running the club worked well why fix something that ain't broke.

I already know my first book will be Summer in the South By: Cathy Holton but I am having trouble pinning down a second. Here is what I am looking for...

- Must be a book about the south or based in the south.
(That way it sticks to the Summer in the South theme which will also have a field trip to my hometown!)

- Must be fiction.

- No self help or religious material

Here's what I have so far on my list:

1. Gone with a Handsomer Man By: Michael Lee West

2. Saving CeeCee Honeycutt By: Beth Hoffman

Sad hu?

Lord I need the help!

If y'all have any other suggestions or really loved one book over the other please let me know.

I appreciate each and every one of you! :)

Thank you Thank you Thank you

  1. Bound South by Susan Rebecaa White is really good. The vibe is not unlike The Help, but it's set in modern-day Atlanta. I enjoyed it alot, and think it's be really great for a book club b/c it covers lots of topics + themes.
