Southern Beauty: Lauren Conrad Teaches the Twisted Sister

I am a huge fan of Lauren Conrad's! I watched her on The Hills back in the day and thought she was quiet a well dressed, classy lady. Now Lauren has a new bloggy/website deal that is quickly becoming my go-to beauty resource. Here is one of the hair tutorials under "Primp" that I plan on trying out called Twisted Sister. Would be a great hair style with an everyday maxi dress or a formal gown for a military ball.

Lauren Conrad Tutorial: Twisted Sister

Tools you’ll need:
  • Curling iron (to prep the hair with waves)
  • Sectioning clips
  • Teasing comb or brush
  • Clear elastic rubber band
  • Bobby pins
  • Light to medium holding hairspray (to mist over at the end)
Instructions:

Step 1. Start with wavy hair (see the "every day waves" tutorial)

Step 2. Clip the front and top up. Create a messy bun at the nape of your neck.

Step 3. Take individual pieces from the top and front sections and loosely twist.

Step 4. Pin that piece into the messy bun.

Step 5. Repeat step four and alternate sides until you reach the top section.

Step 6. Back comb the crown area for subtle volume.

Step 7. Twist and pin that section into the bun. (optional) Gently loosen a few pieces around the face to soften the look.
